12 Editors. 12 months. 12 Chapter[s].

POSTSCRIPT is pleased to offer our subscribers something new & exciting: a members-only newsletter curated by leading women of colour academics, artists, & activists.

Launching January 2022, Chapter[s] is a weekly newsletter from POSTSCRIPT that centres the critical and creative works of women of colour in intellectual and artistic narratives globally.

Our new subscription features 12 women of colour guest editors who will curate each month’s mailouts, a.k.a. ‘chapter’, around a chosen theme that relates to their practice and/or research. These women will be artists and thinkers who are shaping creative, cultural and knowledge production in their respective fields.

A year-long issue broken down into monthly chapters, the membership brings together the brilliant minds and leading voices of women of colour from across the globe to reflect on groundbreaking academic research, ideas that shape our lives and some of the most pressing issues in contemporary society.

POSTSCRIPT, across its entirety, is dedicated to recognising and amplifying the critical work of women and colour, and this carries over into our new subscription. We hope Chapter[s] inspires our readers and challenges your thinking by connecting you to the incredible work of women of colour academics, artists and activists across the globe.

The FAQs

Who is POSTSCRIPT?

POSTSCRIPT explores critical thought from contemporary women. Featuring creatives and academics from varied backgrounds, we merge well-researched and analytical writing with evocative and artistic expressions for critical thinkers and socially-engaged audiences. As a Black-owned and female-led journal, our aim is to support and share the work of women of colour artists and thinkers, connecting readers to differing ideas, customs and perspectives on the world we share.

Why have you created Chapter[s]?

The range of creative and critical work that women of colour are producing in their respective fields is incredible and vital, but is still frequently overlooked, underrepresented and not properly supported in academic or mainstream settings. We created Chapter[s] with the aim of centring the works of women of colour in intellectual and artistic narratives globally.

Chapter[s] mission is to amplify and advance the work of women of colour academics, artists and activists who are shaping creative, cultural and knowledge production in their industries, while also increasing accessibility and exposure to original and innovative work from women of colour for our audience.
